Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – 4 February 2026: Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and Chairman of the National Center for Palms and Dates, CATRION has signed a cooperation agreement with Jareed, reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainability and its support for national initiatives aimed at environmental protection and the development of the local industrial sector.
The agreement was signed on behalf of CATRION by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mohammed Alshuhail. It aims to explore the integration of palm-based cutlery products into the company’s operations as sustainable alternatives to single-use materials, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact and the promotion of sustainable operational practices.
This collaboration stems from a shared commitment to strengthening partnerships among national entities and companies within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a strong belief in the importance of developing environmentally friendly solutions that reduce waste and enhance local economic value, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and its environmental pillars.
The agreement focuses on conducting operational trials to assess the suitability of Jareed’s products across CATRION’s various operating environments, in addition to evaluating their operational and environmental feasibility in accordance with approved quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
Areas of cooperation also include the development of awareness content and the implementation of media initiatives to promote sustainable alternatives to single-use materials, as well as the exchange of knowledge and expertise related to eco-friendly materials and waste reduction. This supports local innovation and advances sustainable solutions within the catering and hospitality sector.
In this context, Mr. Alshuhail stated that the agreement represents a significant step in CATRION’s journey toward enhancing sustainability across its operations and developing innovative alternatives to single-use materials. He emphasized that high-quality national partnerships play a key role in creating a positive and lasting environmental impact, while supporting the Kingdom’s direction toward reducing waste and emissions.
Both parties affirmed that this agreement reflects their commitment to aligning efforts in implementing practical and scalable sustainability initiatives across various operational environments, and to strengthening the role of the private sector in supporting national sustainability objectives.
